Delta and BMS Employees Exceed Holiday Food Drive Goals

In an employee memo distributed January 24, 2005, it was reported that Delta Design and BMS employees donated a total of 456 pounds of food in support of hunger relief during the 2004 Holiday Food Drive—56 pounds over the original goal. The food will support multiple programs to help feed the hungry, via the San Diego Food Bank.
About the San Diego Food Bank:
Established in 1977, the San Diego Food Bank provides food and services to more than 150,000 individuals each month. The people who turn to the San Diego Food Bank for help are children, families, seniors and the working poor. The San Diego Food Bank distributes food more than 10 million meals within San Diego County each year:
- 48% of people served by the Food Bank are under the age of 18
- 16% percent are children ages five years and younger
- 22% are senior citizens
- 50% of households served have at least one adult employed in a low-income job
